We all know that optimists view the glass as half full, but what would they have to say about an empty glass?  Touché.  

 

A 1 hr shaft is okay, but a 3 hr shaft gives cause for concern.  

This is the Class of 1900 arch on the UC Berkeley campus.  I'm not quite sure of its purpose.  Is it the doorway to learning?  Or the doorway to the staircase to discovery?  Or perhaps it's just the doorway to the staircase to get across campus...
